Don’t Believe Anyone Who Tells You They Can Multitask and Drive Safely

A new study funded by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and published online in the January 23, 2013 journal PLOS One, an online journal of the Public Library of Science, found that those who believe that they are better than average at multitasking are actually worse at it. Similarly, those who regularly engage in multitasking while driving, such as texting, may actually be worse at it than others who engage in the behavior more rarely.

Our personal injury attorneys in PA believe that there is no such thing as safely multitasking behind the wheel. Driving itself is a multitasking behavior that asks you to be aware of and respond to many different stimuli simultaneously. Accordingly, it is important not to multitask and drive, to beware of riding with anyone who claims that they can multitask and drive, and to contact your Pennsylvania personal injury lawyer if you’ve been hurt in a distracted driving accident.
