What Happens When A Driver Drives at Three Times the Posted Speed Limit?
Earlier this month, 30 year old David R. Zareczky Jr. was involved in a serious one car accident. Mr. Zareczky was reportedly driving over 115 mph on Stoke Park Road in Hanover Township when the car that he was driving flipped over and landed in the front yard of a residential property. The posted speed limit on Stoke Park Road is 35 mph.
While Mr. Zareczky was able to walk away from the accident, his passenger, Steven Beckett, was seriously injured. Mr. Zareczky has been charged with numerous violations including reckless driving, failure to render aid and, driving with a suspended license.
Additionally, Mr. Zareczky faces possible civil lawsuits for the injuries sustained by his passenger Mr. Beckett. Even though the driver and passenger of a vehicle know one another and the passenger has agreed to ride in the car, the driver may be liable for damages incurred by the passenger in an accident.
