Three Things That You May Not Have Told Your Teen Driver That Could Save Their Life

You’ve told your teenager (probably countless times) to wear their seatbelt, to put down their cell phone, and to limit the number of kids they has in the car with them. You’ve warned her about the perils of speeding and you’ve drilled into her the dangers of drinking and driving.

All of that is critically important and could save their life. However, before your teen gets behind the wheel of a car, you should also inform them of additional information.

What You Should Tell Your Teen

  • That railroad crossings can be deadly. Tell them to obey all crossing signals and to always look both ways before driving over the tracks.
  • Trucks are not the same as cars. They take longer to stop, they have larger blind spots, and they may cause more damage in an accident.
  • Roads can be slippery without ice and snow. Wet leaves, for example, can cause a car to skid and crash.

As experienced attorneys for personal injury victims, we know that you want to protect your teen from all the possible dangers and we hope that the tips we provided above help you keep your family safe.
