When winning is the only option

Where is my lawyer? Am I screwed if I fire them?

Here’s what to do if you can’t reach your lawyer during the coronavirus.

Look, terminating your lawyer, especially if you are happy with them before all of this is a big deal. Make sure you’re doing everything you can to reach them and try to find out what’s going on with your case. If you’ve already called the office and tried to email, if you have their cell number and you should send, them a a text. Go to their website if they have one, and send a form through the website. If they have a Facebook page, go on their personal or business Facebook page and send them a message. Try, persist.

If you liked them before all this happened it stands to reason that you should be okay. If you’re not happy with the response you get either because they don’t call you back or once they do you’re not satisfied with what’s going on in your case, you don’t feel okay with it, it’s not a big deal technically to hire a new lawyer. Your new lawyer should absorb your entire legal fee, your entire contingency fee. You shouldn’t be paying two fees.
