Pennsylvania to Participate in Groundbreaking Transportation Safety Study

Penn State has agreed to participate in a massive transportation safety study that is being heralded as the largest coordinated traffic safety program ever done in the United States. The study, known as the Second Strategic Highway Research Program, is looking into the causes of highway causes by installing cameras and other electronic devices into cars to record the real life actions of drivers.

Approximately 240 Centre County cars are expected to be included in this study.  It is expected that the study results will allow future laws and safety decisions to be made based on real data and not simulated data.

The study is expected to be completed in March 2013.  Our accident and injury lawyers will be looking forward to the results of the study and its impact on any future state and federal legislation.
