PA Bicycling Advocate Injured in Bike Accident Despite New Safety Law

Frank Pavlick is an avid PA bicycling advocate for safety. He was also one of the first victims of a Pennsylvania bike accident after a new law went into effect earlier this year. The new law requires drivers to leave four feet of space between them and bicyclists. It allows drivers to cross the yellow center line (if it can be done safely) in order to keep the required distance. Pennsylvania is the 20th state in the nation to enact such a law.

On the first day the new Pennsylvania law was in effect, a 17 year old driver hit Frank Pavlick as he was biking in Bethlehem. The 17 year old did not leave four feet of space between himself and Mr. Pavlick. Mr. Pavlick did not suffer life threatening injuries and has indicated that he will continue riding his bike and advocating for bike safety in Pennsylvania.

If you have suffered a bike accident injury, Blue Bell bike accident lawyers would be pleased to provide you with a free consultation about your rights and possible recovery. You, like Mr. Pavlick, can be an important part of keeping Pennsylvania roads safe for bicyclists.
