New Study Says Age May Not be Reason for More Accidents Involving Elderly

According to a recent report in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, the common belief that older drivers are more dangerous because of their age is largely a myth. Instead, researchers found that age does not make a driver more likely to be in a crash, but it does make a driver more likely to suffer injuries in an accident.

Researchers do concede that older drivers may be more likely to be in accidents for reasons other than age, however. For example, they found that older drivers travel on local roads with more intersections than younger drivers. Additionally, older drivers may be more likely to report accidents to the police.

A driver of any age has a responsibility to drive with due care and avoid accidents caused by negligence. If you have been hurt in a PA crash then we encourage you to contact an experienced Reading personal injury attorney for a free consultation.
