New Pennsylvania Traffic Law Now in Effect

Over the summer, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett signed a bill into law that will impose stronger penalties on drivers who ignore safety signs or signals. That new Pennsylvania traffic law is now in effect.

Pursuant to the law, any driver who ignores a “road closed” or similar emergency signal or sign could face a fine of $250 and two points on his or her license. If the driver’s actions require first responders (such as the police or an ambulance) to come to the scene then the fine is raised to $500 and the driver is responsible for paying for the price of the emergency response.

It is important to heed the safety warnings posted and to know that if a warning is not posted and you are injured then it may be time to contact an experienced PA auto accident lawyer.
