Interesting Data on 2011 Thanksgiving Weekend Accidents in Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania State Police have released their information about Thanksgiving weekend crashes. Thanksgiving weekend 2011 was the five day period which began on Wednesday November 23, 2011 and ended on Sunday November 27, 2011.

During that time, the State Police report:

  • 1,007 crashes;
  • 326 injuries;
  • 10 deaths; and
  • 8,647 speeding citations.

The number of crashes, injuries and fatalities is lower than what was reported last year. In 2010, the Pennsylvania State Police reported 1,091 accidents, 343 injuries and 17 deaths. However, the State Police also issued significantly fewer speeding tickets in 2010 with only 7,393 tickets reported.

Our personal injury attorneys in PA express our sincere condolences to the families of the 10 fatal accident victims and our best wishes for a fast and full recovery to the 326 people injured in the holiday weekend wrecks.
