Peloton Treadmill Accidents

Have you or someone you care about been injured in an accident with a treadmill like Peloton’s Tread+?

In an age of lockdowns, there are more people than ever that choose to exercise from home, yet few people talk about serious injuries you or your loved ones can sustain. This was made all the more apparent recently with the national news story about the tragic accident involving a Peloton treadmill which took the life of a young child. In an open letter posted online, Peloton CEO John Foley acknowledged that he “recently learned about a tragic accident involving a child and the Tread+, resulting in, unthinkably, a death.” No further details of how the fatal Peloton treadmill accident occurred. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC) acknowledged that it has initiated an investigation into the wrongful death and will be reviewing the Tread+. While our attorneys at Ostroff Godshall Injury and Accident Lawyers are saddened to hear about the egregious loss of life, the statistics associated with exercise equipment-related injury shows a pattern for concern.

At Ostroff Godshall Injury and Accident Lawyers, we know how dangerous and devastating treadmill accidents can really be for a victim and his or her family. We presently represent the family of a two-year-old child who was also seriously injured in an accident involving Peloton’s Tread+ treadmill just days before Peloton’s CEO issued his open letter announcing the child fatality. The issue in the case we are investigating involves the treadmill’s safety key – an issue that was raised in the CEO’s open letter.
