Disturbing Results of Distracted Driving Study

Most drivers know that it is wrong – and dangerous – to use a cell phone while driving.  And, most drivers do it anyway, according to the results of a recent distracted driving study.  The study conducted by Harris Interactive, a market research company, found that 91% of drivers know that it is not safe to use a handheld cell phone while driving and that 60% of drivers do it anyway.

So, if the majority of drivers know that their actions are dangerous why do they do it and what can the public or government do to stop them?  That is the question on the minds of many lawmakers as people begin to question the effectiveness of cell phone driving laws.
